Another analogy

This is just an analogy, I think God gave to me about my walk with him.

It happened when I was traveling somewhere, I can’t remember and neither is it important. I had Googled directions and set out from my home to my destination. I intended to get to my destination, there was no doubt about that, for I had showered, gassed up the car and left with the intention of reaching my destination.

Somehow, along the way I got lost and was actually going in the opposite direction. When I learned about that, I turned back and continued to get closer to where I was headed.

Following God is a heart issue and perseverance. When we say “yes’ to Him, we have essentially Googled salvation and filled up on the Holy Spirit. Yet along the way when we seem to be heading in the opposite direction, we are yet heading to our destination.

Though we are heading in completely the opposite direction, our destination hasn’t changed. We just have to turn around.  Heading in the opposite direction does not mean we gave up. It’s when I think, “i’ll never find my way” and start exploring options to get back home, is when i’ve given up.

Perseverance, even through times when I’m heading in the opposite direction. Tough, but I have to. I intend on running the race.
